Cletus's Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce

This Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce is one of them recipes that makes people go “What in the world did you put in this?!” It’s sweet, tangy, smoky, and sticks to the meat just right. Perfect for ribs, chicken, pork chops, or anything you wanna slap on the grill.

Ingredients (makes about 2–3 cups)

2 cups ketchup
1 cup regular Coca-Cola (diet won’t caramelize the same)
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2–3 Tbsp brown sugar (adjust to your sweetness liking)
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt & black pepper to taste

How to Make Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce

1. Dump everything into a medium saucepan over medium heat.

2. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.

3. Let it bubble and reduce for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens up nice and glossy (it should coat the back of a spoon).

4. Taste and adjust — a little more brown sugar if you want it sweeter, or a splash more vinegar if you like it tangier.

5. Let it cool, then store in a jar in the fridge. It gets even better after a day or two.

Holler Tips from Cletus

Always use regular Coca-Cola — diet versions don’t give you that sticky caramelized goodness.
This sauce is great on the grill or in the oven. Brush it on toward the end so it doesn’t burn.
Make a double batch — it keeps in the fridge for weeks and makes killer pulled pork sandwiches.
Thin it with a little extra Coke or broth if you want it more like a glaze.
